As the Lead Game Designer, you will be pivotal in shaping the game's design systems, ensuring a captivating and immersive experience for players. You will lead a talented team of designers and collaborate closely with other departments to create a game that is both innovative and fun.
This role is anticipated to be a remote work position, with some occasional travel involved.

Responsibilities
As the Lead Game Designer for My Neighbor Alice, you will play a critical role in conceptualizing and implementing the game's design. Working directly with the game director, you will collaborate with the Art Director and Lead UI/UX Designer to establish and maintain the game's design ethos, faithfully executing the game's vision.
Developing, conveying, and refining the overall game design vision in partnership with Directors, other Leads, and the Gameplay team.
Spearheading the design efforts, translating the directors' vision into concrete game designs and features, in collaboration with your team
Offering game design expertise to various aspects of the game.
Help establish and maintain a creative environment with a high standard of performance
Creating engaging and intuitive game mechanics, levels, and narratives.
Innovating game concepts and mechanics, particularly in the context of a web3 games environment
Facilitating communication among designers, artists, and developers to ensure a cohesive gaming experience
Requirements
8+ years of game development experience.
5+ years of experience as a Game Designer, having worked on various game projects.
Excellent design skills, including system design, feature design, economy design, level design.
Deep understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and engagement strategies
A keen sense for creating fun and compelling game experiences
Proficient in various game development & design tools and software, such as Confluence, JIRA, Figma etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high degree of technical design writing skills
Fundamental technical understanding of game engines such as Unity
Knowledge and Skills
Experience working in large projects with diverse, multidisciplinary game teams
Effective communication skills, able to inspire and align team members of various disciplines.
Ability to lead and direct, but also present ideas effectively to leadership
Strong knowledge of game development realities, both technical and conceptual
Detail-oriented, observant, and able to articulate ideas clearly
Independent, organized, and possessing excellent organizational skills
Passionate about video games, particularly multiplayer or MMO genres
Basic knowledge of blockchain and web3 technologies
Extra Points
Familiarity with social simulation games like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley
Passion and knowledge of Blockchain & Web3
Experience in the web3 gaming space
Experience working with Game Communities and Marketing teams
Interest or experience in other game development disciplines (UI/UX design, engineering, etc.).
